A word from the Chairman
The 45th edition of Hassan II Golf Trophy will take place on the legendary Red Course, upgraded for the occasion, from April 19 to 22 while the 24th edition of Lalla Meryem Golf Cup will be played on the Blue Course.
Both tournaments, integral parts of the PGA European Tour and of Ladies European Tour bring together the European elite of masculine and feminine Golf every year.
While the best European players will compete on both courses, the national players have not been discarded as they thrive to win their spot competing at the « The Race to the Trophy » which allows the best ones amongst them to take part of this prestigious competition.
Morocco aims at being endowed with performing and attractive infrastructures, that is how from Tangiers to Dakhla and from Rabat to Saïdia, dozens of golfs materialized are giving birth to vocation among the youth on one hand, and on the other handattracting sizable numbers of tourists who, wish to discover, the beauty and diversité of Moroccan golf courses.
Golf is part of the human capital development action via sport initiated in Morocco, and this goal is one of the major issues of the Hassan II Trophy Association and the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation of which, from now and on, I am in charge of the Presidency.
It should be noted that an exemplary cooperation has been established between these two entities and the Office of Professional Training and the Promotion of Work. Such cooperation allowed the undertaking of a number of training actions related to golfing activities to the benefit of motivated youth desiring to be employed in this sector. This just a beginning and there is still a long way to go in this direction.
Last year we witnessed a final of anthology for Hassan II Golf Trophy between the winner, Italian Edoardo Molinari and his successor Irish Paul Dunne. No doubt that this year both tournaments will grant us a new high quality sports show.
For this reason, I wish a warm welcome to all professional and amateur participants as well as the public as usual.
His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid
Chairman of the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association (ATH)
