The Must of the Golf


The history of golf in Morocco goes back to the beginning of the twentieth century because the first golf course saw the light of day in Tangier in 1914. But it wasn’t until 1971, under the urging of His Majesty the Late King Hassan II, himself a passionate admirer and player of this noble sport, that the game of golf took off with the creation of the prestigious Hassan II Golf Trophy.

Today Morocco is home to around twenty impressive golfing destinations in cities throughout the Kingdom: Marrakech, Agadir, Rabat, Fes, Tangier, El Jadida, Saidia, Mohammedia, and Casablanca…

The proliferation of these golf resorts throughout the country allows professional and amateur golfers to take part in a variety of “experiences”: the Atlas Mountains, the Atlantic coast, the Mediterranean, or the dunes of the Sahara… Every region of Morocco offers courses with unique climates, histories, and cultures.

The majority lean towards a golfing experience that integrates the course in a green setting, with a relaxing, luxurious atmosphere:  large villas and hotels, space, and academies. Around twenty new courses are currently in the development phase in the country, bringing joy to golf lovers everywhere.
